Today, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane declared that SLPP MP Sanath Nishantha has been suspended from participating in Parliament sessions for a duration of two weeks. This disciplinary action was taken due to the MP’s disruptive conduct during yesterday’s parliamentary proceedings. The Speaker emphasized that his decision was made in accordance with the authority granted to him under Standing Order 146.
