The Meteorology Department has announced that the showery weather conditions will persist due to an atmospheric disturbance of wave-type. According to the Department, showers will occur intermittently in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva Provinces.
In addition, other areas of the island can expect showers or thundershowers in various locations after 1.00 p.m. It is important to note that heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are anticipated in certain areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-Western, and Northern Provinces.
To ensure safety, the public is strongly advised to take necessary precautions in order to minimize any potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
