Lanka Sathosa Chairman Pasanda Yapa Abeywardena announced today that in light of the festive season, Lanka Sathosa has made the decision to lower the prices of ten essential commodities starting from today. The price reductions include a decrease of Rs. 10 (Rs. 940) for Sathosa Milk Powder, Rs. 55 for imported canned fish 425g, Rs. 10 for imported canned fish 255g, Rs. 20 for local canned fish 425g, Rs. 15 for imported potatoes, Rs. 15 for local potatoes, Rs. 15 for red raw rice 1kg, Rs. 5 for white raw rice 1kg, and Rs. 5 for chickpeas 1kg.
Additionally, eggs will now be sold at Rs. 35 each, white sugar at Rs. 275, and big onions at Rs. 400. These reduced prices will remain in effect until December 31, as stated by the Chairman.
