Matheesha Pathirana, a talented Sri Lankan fast bowler, will unfortunately be absent from the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 2023 season. Originally expected to represent the Bangla Tigers in the tournament, Pathirana has been unable to recover from a shoulder injury sustained during the 2023 World Cup in India.

In addition to Pathirana, his fellow Sri Lankan pace bowlers Lahiru Kumara, Dushmantha Chameera, and Dilshan Madushanka will also be missing the T10 franchise leagues for various reasons.

Another notable absence from the Abu Dhabi T10 is Wanindu Hasaranga, a seasoned all-rounder who was set to lead the Northern Warriors franchise. Hasaranga recently underwent surgery in England after suffering a hamstring injury during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 season, which forced him to miss both the 2023 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka and the 2023 World Cup in India.

The Abu Dhabi T10 2023 season is scheduled to begin on November 28 and conclude on December 9. Eight teams will be participating in the seventh edition of the league, with all matches taking place at Abu Dhabi’s renowned Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
