Janaka Dharmakeerthi, the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, has been appointed as the Chairman of Milco Company Limited. This appointment was made by Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera. In addition to his role as Secretary, the Minister has entrusted Janaka Dharmakeerthi with the responsibilities of this chairmanship. The new chairman officially assumed his duties on December 18. In the appointment letter, the Minister acknowledged the concerns regarding employee dissatisfaction and the decline in production productivity at Milco Company, which influenced this decision. Former Chairman Renuka Perera had resigned in protest against the proposed sale of Milco (Pvt) Ltd to an Indian company.
