The Kandy Sports Club, defending champions of the League, will be making their first trip to Colombo this season as they face off against Army SC in the Nippon Paint Inter-Club Rugby Tournament fixture at Panagoda today. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3.45 p.m.

Army SC suffered a heavy defeat of 8-55 at the hands of CR and FC in their previous match at home. They will be aiming to make a comeback and regain their confidence.

However, it will not be an easy task for the Soldiers to bounce back against the formidable Kandy outfit, who secured a 22-13 victory with a bonus point against CH and FC last week.

Ashan Bandara, a former player of Vidyartha College, leads the Army SC team. They have some talented players like Sudaraka Dikkumbura, Nalaka Maduranga, and Chamath Fernando in their starting lineup.

On the other hand, Kandy SC is led by Lavanga Perera, a former player of Kingswood School and the national team. Their back division is exceptionally strong and capable of creating gaps against any opponents.

Tharinda Ratwatte, Srinarth Sooriyabandara, Diluksha Dange, and Nigel Ratwatte are all top players who have represented the country at the Asian level.

In the forwards play, Thilina Bandara, a towering second rower, showcased great form in the match against CH and FC and will be looking to deliver a similar performance.
