Nuwara Eliya District Disaster Management Centre has warned drivers to be cautious of possible dangers when motoring along upcountry roads due to the prevailing heavy rainfall.

Asst. Director of the Disaster Management Centre Nimal Bandara said drivers should be careful when on misty and slippery roads that are prone to earth slips and falling rocks. He said the mist prevented a clear view of the road.

He warned the drivers to pay particular attention on gear changes to control the vehicles at bends and in hilly areas.
