Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa announced today that, under a future Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) government, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal would undergo renegotiation. During his address in Parliament, he emphasized the importance of reaching a new agreement with the IMF in order to alleviate the burden on the people. In response to State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe’s inquiry about the SJB’s stance on IMF support, Premadasa confirmed their intention to renegotiate the deal.
