During the signing ceremony at BYD’s global headquarters in Shenzhen, John Keells Group was appointed as the exclusive distributor of BYD passenger vehicles in Sri Lanka. BYD, also known as Build Your Dream, is expected to surpass Tesla as the world’s largest electric vehicle maker by the end of 2023. BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division General Manager Liu Xueliang and John Keells Group Chairman Krishan Balendra were present at the event. Xueliang stated that the partnership will allow them to offer eco-friendly passenger vehicles in Sri Lanka, while Balendra expressed excitement about bringing advanced new energy vehicle models to the country. BYD has sold over 1.86 million NEVs globally in 2022 alone and has a presence in over 70 countries and regions.
