The Ministry of Public Security has released a special gazette that includes revisions to the fees for processing national identity card photographs.

Under the new guidelines, registered photographers will now be allowed to charge a maximum fee of Rs. 400 for uploading digital images that comply with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. This fee will be applicable to individuals who are applying for a new identity card or a duplicate after registration.

Public Security Minister Tiran Alles has issued this special gazette, which cancels out the previous notification published in Gazette No. 1965/33 on May 5, 2016. The previous fee was set at Rs. 150.

The Minister has emphasized that the main objective of this change is to streamline the process of uploading digital images to the e-photo Studio Software System of the Department for the Registration of Persons.
