In an effort to address the shortcomings of Sri Lanka’s national cricket team at the Cricket World Cup, the administration is seeking to bring in a prominent former player to assume the coaching role, according to SLC President Shammi Silva. Silva expressed his intention to invite the country’s most esteemed cricketing legend to Sri Lanka and lead the national team, even offering a salary comparable to that of the Indian team’s coach. However, Silva refrained from disclosing the identities of the individuals he had in mind. Following Sri Lanka’s disappointing ninth place finish at the World Cup, Silva emphasized that significant decisions will be made regarding the team’s future in the coming days. “We will be making some major determinations within the next few days,” Silva stated.
