ARLIAMENT (Daily Mirror) – President Ranil Wickremesinghe has proposed a Rs. 10,000 increase in the Cost of Living Allowance for government employees while presenting the 2024 budget to Parliament.
Accordingly, the Cost of Living Allowance will be raised to Rs. 17,800.
This salary adjustment is scheduled to be implemented from April 2024, with the arrears of the cost of living from January to April collected in installments starting from October next year.
