At least six individuals lost their lives and 10 others were injured following a fire outbreak at a candle manufacturing facility in the Pimpri Chinchwad area of Pune district on Friday, according to an official statement. The Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal commissioner, Shekhar Singh, reported that the fire brigade was notified about the incident at the Talawade factory around 2.45 pm. The factory specialized in producing sparkling candles commonly used for birthday celebrations. Singh stated that the fire has been extinguished, but the cause is yet to be determined. The fire brigade was alerted by the owner of a neighboring unit, prompting a swift response from the team who managed to control the blaze and transport the injured to the hospital. Tragically, the bodies of the six victims were severely burned and unidentifiable, while the injuries sustained by the 10 individuals, including nine women and the male owner of the factory, are of a serious nature. Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar, expressed his condolences and assured a thorough investigation into the incident.
