The severe cyclonic storm ‘Michaung’ has crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast of India, and this system is gradually weakening, the Meteorology Department said.
The cyclone is currently over the West-Central Bay of Bengal.
Therefore, showers will occur in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern, and Uva Provinces after 2:00 p.m. and in the Western, Southern and North-Western Provinces, particularly during the morning.
However, misty conditions can be expected in the Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces during the morning.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
