The Department of meteorology has announced that showers will occur intermittently in the Northern, North-central, and Eastern provinces. After 1.00 p.m., showers or thundershowers are expected in various locations across the island. In Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Western provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts, there is a possibility of fairly heavy showers exceeding 75mm. Additionally, misty conditions may be experienced in the morning in certain areas of Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize any potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
